Every mantelpiece is handcrafted and sanded to assure you of quality and lasting beauty for years to come.

American Fireplace Mantels use only choice hardwoods. Choose from beautifully grained oak or ash which are ideal for staining in any finish. Also available is a paint grade wood for a painted finish.

Our mantels come in three sizes (36", 42" and 48") and will fit factory-built and masonry fireplaces for both new construction and remodeling. Special opening dimensions are available upon request.

All mantelpieces come pre-sanded, ready to be stained or painted.

All mantels come with precut scribe molding to attractively finish gaps between the mantel and the facing page.

Our full-return mantels are designed to accomodate standard face brick or other facings of unusual size up to 4" thick.

Each mantelpiece is preassembled at the factory to make sure the custom-mitered joints fit perfectly. Then they are disassembled into three pieces and packaged for safe, efficient shipping.

American Fireplace Mantels provide the complete mantelpiece system: mantel, scribe moldings and hardware with parts predrilled for quick installation. Assembly requires only three small molding pieces and four screws.

AFM mantelpieces are specially designed and safety-tested to conform with the 1988 Uniform Building Code: Section 3705A requirements.

Heritage:

This classical design offers simple and strong lines with boldly fluted legs and a smooth face panel. Stained or painted this mantelpiece offers lasting beauty to any decor.

Hancock:

Beautifully fluted trim, rosettes and footed legs express the fine workmanship of this mantlpiece. Its design works well with any decorative scheme from traditional to contemporary.

Jefferson:

The bold appearance and detailed carving complement a colonial or traditional look. This mantelpiece features a massive half-round trimmed header and boldly fluted built-up legs with a colonial style foot.

Franklin:

Simplicity is the strong highlight of this beautifully trimmed mantelpiece. Its classical design works well in traditional or modern decor.

Madison:

A reflection of a simpler time. The top-to-bottom fluting and handsomely detailed face gives the Madison its traditional character. The clean square lines lend its design to any contemporary decor.

Victorian:
